having two kids...

leaves me not even one second to blog.
it doesn't leave me one second to read a book.
it doesn't leave me one second to do ANYTHING.

i really don't mind though.
my little babes are 2000% worth it.
i am 2000 times more tired than i have ever been.
bennett has started sucking his thumb and i was trying to feed him, but he wouldn't move his hand out of the way and i said "bennett, move your thumb away from your hand."
yeah guys. i am an idiot.

atty will be THREE in TWENTY DAYS.
where the freak has the last three years gone?! that little girl is so. freaking. funny.
i have no idea where she learns any of the stuff she does, but she is so smart.
she has an attitude problem, but that's my fault because i let her get away with EVERYTHING.
because she's too cute to get mad at.
as of right now her favorite foods are hot dogs, mac and cheese, and sausage. (its really healthy, i know.)
she makes the biggest messes everrrr.
but she's just the best.

bennett is THREE MONTHS OLD!
yeah, i haven't blogged in two months... haha
at his two month appointment he weighed 16 pounds 10 ounces.
he is a monster baby. but so freaking perfect.
he's starting to stay awake more and more,
and he is the happiest baby. EVER.
all he does is smile. okay, like 95% of the time. the other 5% he's hungry or tired.
he started sleeping through the night last week!
he'll now sleep from 9-5. it is a miracle.

and, we are going to hawaii in less than a week!
we get to spend thanksgiving with his family this year, and we are all so excited.(:
i am so so so nervous about taking bennett on a plane though.
especially cuz on one of the flights we aren't sitting by each other.
we had to book our seats all behind each other. (does that even make sense?)
so atty will have to sit on jordans lap... cross your fingers for us! hahah

bennett's birth story.

before i start the birth story, let me just say, jalene is amazing. she took the pictures, and it was so worth it. if you've ever considered getting a birth story done, do it. and if you never ever have considered it, get it done.

so like i said a couple posts ago i had an appointment with my midwife on august 14. i had dilated to a 4, 80% effaced, and he was as low as he could be without actually having him. i asked to be induced, because i just don't think my labor starts naturally. or it does and i just don't know until it would be too late.
i set the date for august 16th, and the hospital called the night before and told me that i was basically "on call," and they would call me and give me an hour notice of when i could come in, any time between 8 am-12 pm. which was absolutely awful not knowing when.. hahah.
i woke up early so i could do my hair and make up and be ready by 8 in case that's when they called. (i know, who does their hair to have a baby? i'm just weird.) i repacked my bags and was getting ready when they called at 9:40 asking me to be there at 11.

so we arrived, right at 11. they showed me to my room, number 7, and i got all hospital dressed and we waited for the nurse to come start my pitocin. she asked me all the questions and thought maybe we should just break my water first. but the midwife took like 30 minutes to come in so she just started the pitocin anyways. when the midwife came in she asked if i wanted to break my water and i decided we might as well, because it was going to happen sooner or later, and it would speed things up. (i had been at the hospital less then an hour, i didn't really need things sped up, i'm just impatient.) hahah

so they broke my water and then we just waited. i wanted to try to not have an epidural, but wasn't 100% set on it. because when i was in labor with atty (i was induced then too, and got an epidural before they broke my water,) and didn't feel any of my contractions. even before the epidural. so i thought i could definitely do it without an epidural, but wasn't 100% set on not getting one.

so we waited, and i couldn't feel anything, but they checked me some time probably around 1 and i was at a 6.

and i was still pretty pain free! i'm really lucky that way i guess. but then i started to be in a lot of pain. i don't know if what i felt was normal contractions women have in the beginning, or if they're the bad ones women get in the end, all i know is i was not happy. at all. i asked to be checked again, and she said i was a "7, closer to an 8." but i really didn't hear that. all i heard was seven and immediately started freaking out. hahah.

so my plan of no epidural went right out the window. i asked for an epidural because i wasn't thinking. when i was at an 8 with atty it literally took me less then an hour before i even had her. it took the guy 15-20 minutes to get to my room, which was around 2.

and i maybe felt like 50% better when they checked me again. my epidural still hadn't kicked in all the way, and i was a 9, so they started prepping the room!

the midwife decided to have me push once to see if that would get rid of the rest of the cervix, and it did!
i started pushing at about 2:20, and he was born at 2:32 pm.
i don't know who reads my blog, but i won't post the pictures of me pushing, because i don't know who and who isn't comfortable with that. haha (it's just my leg, but it's a lot of leg in some..)

jordan got to put on a gown and gloves, and basically deliver bennett, which was pretty cool, and he thought it was the coolest thing ever. :)

^^^ one of my favorite pictures. my husband is the sweetest man ever. ever.

i'm just really lucky i had such a good, quick labor.
i never thought i could love another baby as much as i love atty, but i can definitely say i do.
i love my husband. he was amazing the whole day to me. and seeing him deliver our baby and seeing tears run down his face.. i melt just thinking about it. he's the best.
i have the best family ever.
